Mark Zolun, one of the co-owners of Iraila Mediterranean Rustica restaurant, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September. He has no health insurance (which is a downside of being a small business owner). Mark and his partner Kenne have given generously to Eugene and to Basic Rights Oregon. They have hosted a fundraiser for BRO and provided yummy delicacies for our events; they help sponsor Free Shakespeare in the Park and donate their time and food to many, many important local causes. I hope you will consider helping give back to Mark and Kenne in their time of need.

There are already 3 events organized as benefits for Mark - as well as a benevolent fund set-up at Washington Mutual (any branch will do) under Mark Zolun. Account no. 3411304029 You are able to save your transaction slip as a tax deductible donation!

The menu will include Cattail Creek Lamb Short Ribs, Winter squash and other roasted vegetables from OGC,shrimp yakisoba, and spice cake with maple whip cream….to name just a few of the goodies. All wine isincluded with the meal (and you can also bring bottles to share if you want!) and you decide what to pay—all the proceeds going to Mark’s fund—suggested donation is $50.00 per person.
